LONDON

From Buckingham Palace, Charles and Camilla rode in a golden carriage pulled by six horses through Central London on their way to the coronation, surrounded by thousands of cheering fans.

The Household Cavalry Regiment made up the majority of the approximately 200 British soldiers who rode in the procession on horses. Around 1,000 additional sailors, soldiers, and Royal Air Force personnel were stationed on either side of the road leading to Westminster Abbey.

After being presented to the audience and repeatedly proclaimed as king, Charles swore a series of oaths that relate to his responsibilities in this new role.

Camilla was crowned as queen shortly after and sat alongside her husband in identical chairs as the choir began to sing.
